Job Summary of Procurement Officer:The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
The role focuses on maintaining strong vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery performance.Prepare and issue purchase orders in line with approved requisitions.Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality or delivery issues.Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.Coordinate with finance, warehouse, and end-user departments to ensure smooth procurement processes.Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and ethical standards.Support cost-saving and value improvement initiatives.Prepare procurement reports and spend analysis.
Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.2–5 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain.Skills & Competencies:Strong negotiation and communication skills.Analytical and problem-solving abilities.Good knowledge of sourcing and supplier management.Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
